GETTING HERE

Where is Wolfville, anyway?

Wolfville is a small town of about 4,000 people, nestled in the Annapolis Valley. About 100km northwest of Halifax, on the western side of the province, the town looks out over the Minas Basin, which empties twice a day into the Bay of Fundy that separates Nova Scotia from New Brunswick.

Home to Acadia University, Wolfville's population doubles during the academic year. In the summer, it's bustling with tourists, who come for the gorgeous ocean views, fresh produce, and award-winning wines.

I'm travelling by plane: how do I get there?

Wolfville is 45 minutes by car from Halifax Stanfield International Airport. If you are flying in, there are several options for transportation into Wolfville:

(1) Sign up for one of our shuttles! If you indicate in your RSVP that you would like to take one of our Friday or Saturday shuttles, we will reach out to you to discuss options. Shuttles will depart at noon and in the early evening on both days.

(2) Hire a limo or taxi service. There are several available for hire at the airport, but we recommend booking one in advance. Woods Limo is a great option if your flight arrives at a time that doesn't coincide with one of our shuttles: they charge $125 for a one-way trip for two passengers with luggage.

(3) Rent a car. Available for pickup at the airport, rates begin at $85/day for the August long weekend. Pick-up is usually unavailable between 1:00 AM and 6:30 AM. We recommend you book in advance, as availability can be limited. If you choose to rent, free parking is available at both venues and in downtown Wolfville.

I'm travelling by car: How do I get there?

Wolfville is about an hour's drive from downtown Halifax (a bit more during rush hours). Follow the NS-101 W and take Exit 10. Travel about five minutes down the road, through the small hamlet of Grand Pré, and you'll enter Wolfville! Parking is available for free in the Wolfville Library and the Wolfville Legion's parking lots, and at the DeWolfe home.

The nearest gas station is full service only; you'll pass it on your way into town. The next gas station is an Irving about ten minutes away on the other side of Wolfville, in the hamlet of Greenwich. If you have any car troubles or questions, please feel free to reach out to us and we will help you!
